The default you can't go wrong with

Inter

The screen-native workhorse, and our default for a reason. Designed specifically for user interfaces, it has a tall x-height that stays crisp at 13px, an enormous weight range, tabular numbers for tables and dashboards, and a neutrality that pairs with almost any headline font. If you're unsure what to use, use Inter - it will never look wrong.

One honest caveat: Inter is now everywhere. It's the reflexive default of every AI tool, template, and rushed rebuild - so leaning on Inter alone, at default weights, is a fast way to look like everyone else. It's still a superb body font; just don't let it be your whole personality. Pair it with a distinctive headline, or reach past it to something below. Friendly geometric sans (modern product UIs)

Figtree

A favorite of ours - it's the typeface this very site runs on. A geometric sans with the hard edges sanded off: circular forms warmed by casual touches (a curvy t, f, and y, a playful question mark) so it reads friendly without going soft. Variable across seven weights, it's a genuine do-everything workhorse for product UI and body alike.

DM Sans

Low-contrast, slightly rounded, and quietly friendly - it softens an interface without getting cute. Now shipping with optical sizes, it's excellent for both product UI and marketing pages, and it pairs perfectly with DM Serif Display (same family, built to go together).

Manrope

A modern geometric sans with just enough character to feel bespoke while staying clean. It's become a startup favorite because it reads as "designed" out of the box - great for both UI and headings when you don't want a separate display font.

Plus Jakarta Sans

Originally drawn for Jakarta's city branding, it's a humanist-geometric sans with wide language support and a distinctive, contemporary feel. Reach for it when you want a product UI that looks current without shouting. It's the typeface behind the Bruvora Receivables marketing site.

Outfit

The minimalist's pick. Uniform, geometric, and almost architectural in its evenness - it's beautiful for clean, modern interfaces and headings where you want calm order. Works especially well in medium and semibold. It's the typeface across the Bruvora Receivables app pages.

Techy and distinctive

Space Grotesk

Derived from the monospaced Space Mono, it keeps a subtly retro-futurist, engineered feel. It's our go-to when a developer tool or tech brand needs a UI font with a bit of edge - distinctive without sacrificing legibility.

Google's own system sans

Google Sans

Google's brand typeface, now on Google Fonts. Friendly, geometric, and endlessly approachable - it's the font that reads as "clean modern app." A safe, corporate-friendly choice that still feels warm.

Google Sans Flex

The variable, fully flexible sibling - optical sizes and wide weight control from one file. Choose this when you want Google Sans but need the full range of a variable font to fine-tune your type scale.

Elegant and friendly (with a caveat)

Questrial

A single-weight geometric sans that's minimal and refined - perfect for clean headings, labels, and light-touch interfaces. The catch is right there in "single-weight": you'll pair it with another font wherever you need bold, so treat it as an accent, not a system.

Quicksand

Rounded, geometric, and genuinely friendly - the right call for playful or consumer-facing products where warmth matters more than authority. Use it where a softer voice fits; skip it for dense, data-heavy UIs.

Raleway

An elegant sans with a distinctive character in its lighter weights. Stylish for headings and lifestyle or premium brands - just be careful with the thinnest weights in body text, where they can get hard to read. Set it at regular or above for copy.

Choosing between them

They're all safe; the differences are personality and fit:

• Just make it right → Inter.
• Warm, modern SaaS → Figtree, DM Sans, Manrope, or Plus Jakarta Sans.
• Calm and minimal → Outfit or Questrial.
• Techy / developer tool → Space Grotesk.
